2007 Premier’s Sustainability Award for Community Excellence.

CERES Community Environment Park won the 2007 Premier’s Sustainability Award for Community Excellence in April 2007. CERES was awarded the prize in recognition of its strong local community focus while engaging in far-reaching partnerships around Victoria with government, communities and businesses.

2005 Eureka Science Award for Excellence in Sustainability Education.

The Victorian Sustainable Schools Initiative, an exciting programme administered by CERES Community Environment Park and Gould League that provides a holistic approach to sustainability for schools, won the 2005 Allen Strom Eureka Prize for Sustainability Education at the beginning of August 2005. The initiative was awarded the prize in recognition of the outstanding collaboration it has promoted between government, business, not-for-profit organisations and schools, as well as the exceptional quadruple bottom line outcomes it has achieved in schools.

Werner Strauss Achievement Award (Community) 2005.

On 20th October 2005, CERES won the Werner Strauss Achievement Award (Community) - Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand -Vic/Tas Branch. This was in recognition of work done by CERES, particularly in reducing greenhouse gases, becoming a 55 tonne sink for carbon dioxide, and in educating schools and the community about these issues and responses.

savewater! 2004 Community Award.

CERES won the savewater! Community Award in 2004 in recognition of site features and demonstrations ranging from water efficient appliances, through to rainwater collection, composting toilets and wastewater treatment and reuse. This is supported by education programs for primary and secondary students, research projects for higher education groups, community and industry workshops and seminars and site tours for national and international delegations.
