Australian State of the Environment Report
2001
National State of the Environment Reports provide information
about environmental and heritage conditions, trends
and pressures for the Australian continent, surrounding
seas and Australia 's external territories. The reports
are based on data and information gathered and interpreted
against environmental indicators. For convenience environmental
indicators have been grouped into environmental themes.
The most recent national report was in 2001 and the
next is scheduled for 2006.

Ecological Footprint Overview
Ecological Footprinting is a resource management tool
that measures how much land and water area a human population
requires to produce the resources it consumes and to
absorb its wastes, taking into account prevailing technology.
