Whole School Approaches to Sustainability:
An International Review of Whole-School Sustainability
Programs
There are a number of nationwide, whole-school initiatives
developing around the world that reflect a range of
innovative approaches to sustainability. Whole-school
programs such as 'Enviro Schools', 'EcoSchools' and
'Green Schools' were reviewed by this study which aimed
to examine and document experiences, achievements and
lessons learnt. The research was undertaken over a 4
month period from March-June, 2004.

Engaging People in Sustainability
This book, authored by Daniella Tilbury and David Wortman
for the IUCN, is based on the exchange of professional
experiences which featured in an IUCN CEC workshop during
the World Summit on Sustainable Development in August
2002. Practitioners from around the world shared their
models of good practice and explored the challenges
involved in engaging people in sustainability. The difficulties
facing practitioners vary between country and context
but some challenges are universal and these are all
explored in this book.
