Teacher Environment Network Meeting

Events

Nillumbik Bat Night

When: Friday, 31 March 2017
Time: 6:30 – 8:300pm

Where: Panton Hill Living and Learning Centre, Bishops Road, Panton Hill 3759
Details: Smiths Gully Landcare group invites you to attend a bat presentation as part of Australasian Bat Night. Learn about the fascinating world of bats by listening to bat expert Robert Bender talking about their diversity in Nillumbik, vital ecological role, and how we can protect their habitat. Following the presentation we will go on a short walk in Bunjil Reserve to see if we can locate them with hand held bat detectors! Bat pictures and masks will be given to children to take home and colour in.

Open Farm Day

When: Sunday, 2 April 2017
Time: 10 am – 4:00pm

Where: Farms will be open across Nillumbik, Whittlesea and the Kinglake Ranges, 14 Civic Drive, Greensborough 3094
Details: Open Farm Day is your chance to visit working farms and meet local farmers. This year Open Farm Day is bigger than ever with farms from Nillumbik, Whittlesea and the Kinglake Ranges opening their gates to showcase farming on the fringe. Follow the Open Farm Day trail and experience farm tours, demonstrations, farm animals, product tastings and more!

Reconciliation indigenous cultural celebration

When: Sunday, 28 May 2017
Time: 10 am – 2:00pm

Where: Bunjil Reserve
Details: Join the celebration of indigenous culture and the restoration of traditional land management practices through an ongoing project cultivating indigenous food, fibre and medicine plants for a cultural education site at Bunjil Reserve.
