Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC)
The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is Australia's largest youth-run organisation, with 59,000 young people across Australia. Our mission is to build a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis. We educate, inspire, empower and mobilise young people to create change in their schools, communities and nationally. The AYCC has inspiring and passionate young people that can come and speak to your school or run educational workshops for students. Email ayccvic@youthclimatecoalition.org to request a speaker.
This year, our government is developing climate change policy. As the generation most affected by climate change, we need to make sure that the youth voice is being heard by politicians. The AYCC is running a campaign from March-July 2011 that will connect thousands of young people with our politicans. We launched the campaign at the end of March and have already met with Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott!
AYCC will support young people to meet with all 226 Federal Politicians to remind them why climate policy is so important. Young leaders can sign-up as a Meeting Captain - who will lead a delegation of young people to meet with their politician - or as a Youth Rep - who will represent their community at the meeting.
To be a part this a student or teacher can sign-up at:
