Water Campaign

It’s time to focus on saving water and we’re helping schools and centres take action by inviting you all to take part in our Water Challenge.

You do not need to complete all 3 challenges. Each completed challenge is an entry into the draw, so the more challenges your school/centre completes, the more chances you have to WIN!

A big thank you to The Dolphin Research Institute for supporting the winning school/centre.

During the campaign we will also provide lots of resources, programs, events, grants, and all things relating to water, so visit this page regularly so you don’t miss out!

Prizes:

All entries go into the running to win one of the following prizes –

Prize 1

2 x one-year long sponsorships to the I Sea I Care program
The program fosters a strong sense of ‘Marine and Coastal Self-Esteem’ and stewardship for the truly unique marine values in Victoria. Since 2000, the program has developed over 7500 Ambassadors as peer educators, leaders, public speakers and environmental champions (valued at $250 per prize).

Prize 2

2 x half-day CERES Excursion: Water Cycles & Solutions Excursion/Incursion
This will give two lucky winners the chance to bring a group of up to 25 students to CERES or for CERES to deliver an incursion at the school. Students will learn about the natural water cycle, urban water cycle, how macroinvertebrates (water bugs) can determine water health, and what humans do to protect our precious water sources (valued at $375 per prize).

We will also be treating the four winning schools to an interview featured in our CERES online stories and news section, as well as in our monthly CERES School Programs newsletter. We look forward to hearing how your school has changed the way you think and act about water!

Winners will be announced on Tuesday 26 April 2022.

Home Water Audit

The existence of water is essential for life on Earth, so are we washing too much water down the drain? A home water audit provides a fun and educational way to investigate ways that water is used every day, determine which areas of the home may be using the most water, and brainstorm ways in which it can be conserved!

This lesson allows students to identify the variety of ways that water is used in the home. Students will order and compare water use within the different areas of the home and brainstorm solutions to reduce consumption . (VCSSU047) (VCMMG225)
