Workshop participants will now need to provide evidence of their full vaccination status or medical exemption in order to participate in on-site classes from 6 pm, 29th October. You will need to check in with our QR code and masks will need to be worn indoors. If you have a valid medical exemption, please get in touch asap. All CERES staff and contractors on site have met vaccination requirements.

This workshop will be taking place on Monday 29th November and Monday 6th December 2021, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, at CERES Brunswick.

Putting changing the world back on your to do list

Through a mix of theory, demonstrations, hands-on and design activities you will explore how to use values-based communication, leading with hope not fear, getting others on board and more approaches to behaviour change. Learn about CERES behaviour change model, learn from a suite of resources and explore your own passions, drive and cause. Learners will have the opportunity to design their own model for change.

  • What is your cause?
  • Is it the people or the system?
  • Creating your model for change

Day 2.

  • Sharing your model for change
  • Messages, Framing and Storytelling
  • Creating your narrative for change
  • Working with groups and facilitating change
  • What positive change can we make in times of crisis?

Lorna Pettifer – CERES School of Nature and Climate – Learning Innovation Director

Lorna Pettifer has been working in environmental education and presenting to community groups on sustainability for many years. At CERES Lorna passionately directs CERES School of Nature and Climate. She is passionate about deepening our response to the ecological and climate crisis through CERES learning experiences. Her background in sustainability stems from ecology and zoology and has broadened to community engagement, environmental management, behaviour change and farm and food systems. Lorna has worked with community groups, schools and individuals. As an environmental advocate, she has worked in National Parks, Environmental Consultancies, Universities, NGOs and Wildlife reserves as a conservationist, educator, tour guide, bush regenerator, GIS Consultant, environmental modeler and researcher. In 2019 she completed training with Al Gore to become a Climate Reality Leader to #LeadonClimate. Lorna proudly received the Environmental Educator of the Year for Victoria in 2018 and the Australian Environmental Educator of the Year 2019.

Appropriate for

Beginners to Advanced levels in community engagement, education and environmental studies. People with an interest in making positive change in the world.

CERES reserves the right to cancel workshops due to insufficient numbers.

If we cancel the workshop you will be entitled to a 100% refund, or you may choose to transfer to another date, subject to availability.

If you decide to withdraw 7 or more days prior to the workshop date CERES will retain a 10% administration fee.

If you decide to withdraw less than 7 days prior to the workshop date CERES will retain 100% of your workshop fee.

Should CERES have to cancel the course due to Government changes relating to the COVD-19 response, we will let you know as soon as possible. Affected participants will be sent a notification that includes details on how to re-book another date or workshop. While cancellations on our part remain refundable within the specified time period, we do hope you will consider bearing with us in these precarious and trying times, and consider the rescheduled date where possible.
