Gardening in Small Spaces (online)

Learn how to design and create a kitchen garden in small spaces!

This online workshop is coming in 2022.

from $72 | 2 sessions

Coming in 2022

Feel that you are missing out on growing your own veggies and herbs due to lack of space? You don’t need a lot of space to grow your own vegetables, herbs or even fruit. By using containers, pots and vertical space you can transform a balcony, courtyard, patio or windowsill into a hugely productive garden.

A great workshop for beginner gardeners, you will learn how to maximise your small space to create an abundant oasis of food.

Over two sessions we’ll cover:

  • Understanding what plants really need (and what’s just myth or marketing)
  • Sun, shade and other site considerations
  • What soil or potting mixes to use
  • Choosing plants and containers to suit your context
  • Watering and mulches
  • Understanding what and when to fertilise
  • And lots more!

Small group size means Carol tailors the session to suit your needs, so bring your questions. We’ll also enjoy hands-on activities from the comfort of your living room.

Over 2 Sessions – Thurs 7th Oct 6pm – 8pm & Sat 9th Oct 9am – 12pm

Carol Henderson has had many years working as a primary teacher, community development worker and horticulturalist, and combines these three passions by running school garden programs with Cultivating Community and facilitating adult workshops at CERES. Drawing garden wisdom from permaculture principles, conventional horticulture and chats with elderly neighbours, she loves sharing her enthusiasm for everything connected with growing and learning in natural environments. Carol is studying a Master of Urban Horticulture at Melbourne University (Burnley) majoring in urban food production.
