System Change, Behaviour Change & Community Engagement

Through a mix of theory, demonstrations and design activities you will explore how to use values-based communication, getting others on board and approaches to behaviour change. Learn about CERES behaviour change model, learn from a suite of resources and have the opportunity to design your own model for change.

This workshop is part of CERES Environmental Education Course. It is designed for participants to enrol in 1 day workshops (professional learning days) or the full 8 week course. It allows us to cater for and share the content with people that are interested in specific topics.

Lorna Pettifer is CERES Learning Innovation Director and has been working in environmental education and presenting to community groups on sustainability for many years. At CERES Lorna passionately directs CERES education and training programs. She also has a strategic focus on environmental management and innovation projects at CERES. She is passionate about deepening our response to the ecological and climate crisis through CERES learning experiences. Her background in sustainability stems from ecology and zoology and has broadened to community engagement, environmental management, behaviour change and farm and food programs. Lorna has worked with community groups, schools and individuals. Her work has supported teachers, students, households and organisations in sustainability management and behaviour change. As an environmental advocate, she has worked in National Parks, Environmental Consultancies, Universities, NGOs and Wildlife reserves as a conservationist, educator, tour guide, bush regenerator, GIS Consultant, environmental modeller and researcher. Lorna proudly received the Environmental & Sustainability Educator of the Year for Victoria in 2018 from EEV and Australian Environmental Educator of the Year 2019 from AAEE.

Appropriate for

Beginners to Advanced levels in education and environmental studies will gain from the class

CERES reserves the right to cancel workshops due to insufficient numbers.

If we cancel the workshop you will be entitled to a 100% refund, or you may choose to transfer to another date, subject to availability.

If you decide to withdraw 7 or more days prior to the workshop date CERES will retain a 10% administration fee.

If you decide to withdraw less than 7 days prior to the workshop date CERES will retain 100% of your workshop fee.

Should CERES have to cancel the course due to Government changes relating to the COVD-19 response, we will let you know as soon as possible. Affected participants will be sent a notification that includes details on how to re-book another date or workshop. While cancellations on our part remain refundable within the specified time period, we do hope you will consider bearing with us in these precarious and trying times, and consider the rescheduled date where possible.

All CERES staff and contractors on site have met vaccination requirements.
