What inspired you to start a class garden?

TEACHER: Garden bed on sale.

KIDS: Great use of space.

 

What vegetables/herbs are you growing?

KIDS: Sage,Italian Parsley, Vietnamese Mint, Common Mint, Dill, Rosemary, Annual Basil, Perennial Basil, Oregano, Coriander.

 

Who maintains and cares for the garden?

KIDS: Class and weather.

 

What is your next step in class sustainability?

KIDS: To grow our herbs, for parents to cook.

 

How has the garden helped you?

KIDS: Given more responsibility

Teamwork

Helps develop multiple intelligences/ Naturalistic

 

Have you used any of the herbs/veggies for cooking or baking?

KIDS: Yes, many people have brought it home for parents to enjoy.

 

Have you had any challenges?

TEACHER: Possums, Annual Basil dying.

KIDS: No not yet
