Energy Savings Competition at Nunawading Christian College
We have had spies in our school! Every day for a month, a group of students have been visiting classrooms and office areas, checking that staff and students are making wise choices when it comes to saving energy. The students proposed, developed and implemented the ‘Energy Audit Initiative’. They actively promoted the scheme at school Chapel programs and enthused student participation by creating a competition between classes. Points were allocated according to the extent of energy reduction practices exhibited by each class.
By the end of the month, the Year 1 class were declared the champion energy savers and awarded a DVD for their efforts! The energy saving practices have now been adopted by the staff and students and have become part of the culture of Nunawading Christian College.
