Galada Tamboore Visit

Our Grade 1/2s have been studying Minibeasts this term. We were fortunate enough that Angela from the Merri Creek Management Committee was able to take us to Galada Tamboore. This is a beautiful area of the Merri Creek near our school. We went looking for minibeasts in the grasslands and creek. We were also lucky enough to see a wedge-tail eagle flying above us as well as a kangaroo on the other side of the creek.

Not only did we learn about the different animals that live and rely on Galada Tamboore, we also learnt about the history of the area- that it was formed by volcanoes and how the Indigineous people in the area used the land and why they named it Merri Merri Creek (rocky rocky).
