Garden Club
Term 2 saw the beginning of a garden club for students in years 3- 6. So far there are around 8 students who attend regularly on Wednesday at lunchtime,
This term we have:
•Planted variety of bulbs – iris, jonquils and daffodils.
•Learnt to identify weeds and how to pull them out.
•Made cuttings from various herbs and planted them in small pots.
•Planted many vegetable and flower seedlings and seeds in both the garden and large pots.
•Planted an apple tree
Each week we have also held a sale of herbs and vegetables grown at school (and some grown in the gardens of the garden club students). This little stall has raised in excess of $150 which has been used to buy potting mix, seeds and seedlings and garden gloveas for the students.
