Here comes the sun!
In Enviro we have been continuing our discovery of energy sources. We are enjoying learning about where our energy comes from and how to use it sustainably.
We have experimented with the solar ovens we created last week and have used the sunshine rays to warm up and melt chocolate. We wrote our predictions before placing the donated pizza boxes outside and discussing what we thought was going to happen.
Some students were lucky enough to get a 32 degree day and their chocolate melted successfully. The students enjoyed putting their finger in the chocolate to test how much it melted and some students got to lick their fingers afterwards.

As a part of their Inquiry learning where the students were developing skills in team work and how to contribute to the community, the Year 3s have begun to work towards creating a garden. This garden will not only grow vegetables for the students but become part of a sustainable project that aims to encompass and compliment a whole school approach to sustainable practice.
