Kambrya ET Newsletter Article

March 2019

The ET Crew

Over the past term, the Kambrya Sustainability Committee has done a lot and proposed many ideas regarding the future of the school. Firstly, we have decided to ‘adopt’ a Tassie Devil [an endangered animal] from Zoos Victoria’s Adopt an Animal program. From a monthly donation, it helps provide support so the animals can be well cared for every day of the year.

We are also on the way to getting our Second Star, the Waste Audit approved. We are also starting to work on our Third Star, which is the Biodiversity Audit. Lately, the Year 10 Environmental Science Class did a Biodiversity audit of the school. The score was found to be 50/100 and our aim is to raise it to 75/100 within the next two years.

On Sunday, the 24th March, Kambrya held a working bee. We planted around 50 new native plants and spread mulch around some of the garden beds. For more information, there is a report in last week’s newsletter. (Week 9)

Hope to see you at our meetings held every even Tuesday! Thanks for your support over the years 😊
