Market Day recycled paper

We are encouraging students to recycle and when brainstorming for a Market Day stall idea students came up with the idea of making recycled paper to sell. There is always paper to recycle so students collected paper from the recycle bins and set about making paper.

A simple paper recycling kit was borrowed from the art room. The photos below show the process that the students used to make the paper. Once made the recycled paper sheets were cut into gift tags, art was added to some and others were framed. The pieces were then sold at our Secondary Campus Market Day to students, staff and parents.

The students enjoyed this activity and it was a productive activity that enabled the students to learn more about recycling, marketing and the value of waste.
