Plant a Tree Day at Strathaird

On Friday the 3rd of August Strathaird Primary School participatedg in its very first Plant a Tree Day! We weren lucky enough to be sponsored by Toyota this year, without whom this would not have been possible. They generously donated 100 indigenous plants and merchandise to our school this year. We have been planning to increase our school’s biodiversity this year and with the addition of these local plants, we will be providing an even better environment for both our students and for the diverse urban wildlife here at Strathaird. Some of the plants are also listed as endangered, these plants for given a safe home in our endangered eco-system garden.

The students involved this year will be the Grade Preps and their Grade 6 buddies who planted one plant together on our school grounds. This will be a wonderful tribute for these students to leave at our school and watch grow as they grow older.

We had lots of fun and can’t wait to do it again next year!
