Point Cook College P-9: Bird Watching at Jamieson Way Wetlands
The suburb of Point Cook is a growing suburb on the fringes of the Western suburbs alongside Ramsar classified wetlands including Cheetham wetlands. There are many built wetlands interspersed between the various housing estates. Point Cook College P-9 has been built with sustainability infrastructure including a wetlands site.
As a continuation of our study on wetlands we took three Year 6 classes on local fortnightly walks to Jamieson Way Wetlands to do some bird watching, including surveys and study the local birds we hope to attract to our school wetlands. We also included rubbish collection and surveying as part of the project.
