Our school is already doing some wonderful things to preserve the environment. We have recycling containers, snack shacks, nude food days, containers for canteen lunches. But we can do more.
A typical primary school child produces more than three pieces of rubbish a day. Our school of 600 students produces approx. 9,000 pieces of rubbish a week or nearly half a million pieces a year!
Each grade level is taking on the challenge of encouraging others to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill. The video below shows photos from assembly this morning where the students shared what they have been doing in their classrooms.
