Solway Primary School will once again be holding its annual Tree Planting Day on Friday 9th September in support of the PlanetArk National Tree Planting Day. Children from across the school will be involved in the preparation and planting of the indigenous trees and shrubs; involving hole digging, composting, planting and mulching. All the plants are indigenous natives which have been carefully selected to be drought tolerate and to withstand the conditions of an energetic school playground.
We will be extending our Wildlife Corridor planted out in 2008 which hosts local natives and bat and bird boxes. Two tawny frogmouths have recently been spotted in the Corridor which has brought great excitement to the school playground!
