Vermont Primary School take recycling a step further

Red Group BinAt Vermont Primary School we are always looking at ways that we can reduce our impact on the environment.

There is a company called Red Group who provide bins so that we can collect bread, pasta and rice bags, cereal box liners, biscuit packets, frozen food bags, bubble wrap and other soft plastics.

The Red Group then take the plastics to the Replas company who turn the plastic bags into benches, tables and much more.

This is a better way of getting rid of plastic bags than throwing plastic bags in the ocean and threatening animals.

At Vermont Primary School we now have two Red Group Bins to collect plastics from our lunchboxes.

Each class has a mini bin where the class puts their soft plastic wrappers in. A class monitor empties the classroom bin into the big Red Group Bin in the playground.
