With a grand total of 12,543 walks from 496 participants, Auburn South PS were proud of our efforts. The Green Team busily collected and collated the total of walks each week and we managed to have the highest ratio of walks for the final week of October in Boroondara and were awarded the use of the Blender Bike for a week.

Boroondara Council provided the bike and all the ingredients to make a banana smoothie (with honey and cinnamon) as well as a berry smoothie (with apple juice). The Berry Nice smoothie proved to be the most requested flavour, with lines stretching back and our smoothies in high demand due to the delicious flavours as well as the favourably hot weather conditions too.

Thank you Verity from Boroondara Council for motivating us and organising the Blender Bike. It sure was popular and also a big draw card with at least 10 new members who have joined our Green Team. Big thank you for the Rebel Sports vouchers too for the colouring competition winners.

In addition, thank you to the students who participated in Walktober Walk-to-School Colouring Competition. Green Team members picked their favourite pieces (you’ll spot the star sticker on your piece). Our judges Zhang Lao Shi, Mrs Mundy and Andrea from SAKG had a tough time deciding on which were the top 5 too.

Congratulations to these following winners who received a $20 Rebel Sports voucher at assembly : Conor (Prep), Chloe (Prep), Evan (Year 1), Fraser (Year 2) and Shakhram (Year 4).

All the entries were displayed outside First Aid (Prep entries) and along the stairwell up to the Year 3 classrooms in the admin building but now have been returned to their owners.

Keep walking, riding, skating and scootering to school!
