We made a Solar Oven!

The kinder children at St Hellier St Children’s Centre explored energy and decided to make their own solar oven. The children showed an interest in the natural phenomena and ‘the changes in their natural environment’. We explored wind energy and the children were interested to hear ‘what sun can do. So, we researched the internet together to learn how to make a solar oven and to see how it works. We used recycled boxes and aluminium foil and dried some apples using the sun’s energy. The children showed great interest and enthusiasm in helping to make the solar oven and learned about the benefits of sun energy.
