Australian Organic Schools

Encouraging children to take healthier lunches to school doesn’t need to be a battle. The secret to getting children to eat their greens is simply a matter of getting them to grow their own.

AOS_School picAustralian Organic Schools is doing just that, by helping teachers get students into the garden and kitchen, and encouraging children to learn about making healthy eating choices and where their food comes from.

Australian Organic Schools new free curriculum and website offers plenty of simple, fun and easy to follow teaching resources covering how to grow and cook organic food. It also includes a fabulous video series to share with classrooms about certified organic farming production and a 10 week series of recipes.

We have made changes to the program to help teachers link work done in the garden and kitchen with the Australian Curriculum.

Register online for this free education program developed to teach children the knowledge and skills of growing healthy food and the benefits of organic for our health and the environment. Our programs provide free teaching resources to support schools to grow organic food, integrate food growing and preparation into the schools’ curriculum, and contribute to whole-school environmental sustainability.
