AYCC’s National Schools Program Start the Switch
The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is Australia’s largest youth-run organisation that aims to empower young people to create change in their communities. Over the past two years we have presented in over 1,000 classrooms across the country, teaching students about sustainability and how they can be involved in creating change.
This year our National Schools Program Start the Switch was a finalist for the Prime Minister’s Environmental Education Award. The 20-minute animated presentation explores climate science, the impacts of climate change, the solutions and renewable energy, and how students can start a group in their school to run sustainability based projects. It’s perfect to fit into the Global Issues, Geography or Science curriculum, and is presented by a charismatic and informed young volunteer.
