Watch and read how Clare Spillane, Grade 2 teacher at Wembley Primary School, uses a range of games on the Habitat Heroes website as part of an integrated unit. Clare wanted her students to explore the impact that people have on the environment.

The Habitat Heroes game takes students all over the world to educate them on the environmental issues and what humans are doing to help or hinder the situation. Students focused on conservation, cultures and geography, safety and communication.

Students logged on and accessed all of the relevant information to increase their learning in regards to relevant learning intents. Clare created Habitat Heroes tab where students accessed the game through an iFrame, responding to teacher directed questions through a wiki, links to relevant resources and videos that extend and support new learning.

Within Habitat Heroes, Clare’s students also had a diary (called a blog). Students recorded their learning and thoughts after each session.
