This program shows that positive action for the environment is easy and everyone can do it.

Connects to the following modules of ResourceSmart Schools: Core, Biodiversity, Energy, Waste, Water

Accessible to schools in the following Melbourne metropolitan regions: Eastern, Northern and Southern

Appropriate for students in:
Early Childhood
Primary – Prep to Grade 2
Primary – Grade 3 to Grade 6
Secondary – Year 7 to Year 10
Secondary – Year 11 to Year 12

What is offered to schools:

  • Easy and fun environmental challenges (‘Waste Warrior’, ‘Sparky’, ‘Wild Child’, ‘Green Thumb’)
  • Free curriculum-aligned, flexible activities
  • Experiential learning with real life application
  • Photo-sharing through an online gallery
  • Online newsletters 

Steps for schools:

  1. Register online. Everyone who joins is in the running to win with Cool Prizes
  2. Take action by choosing your challenge on any topic across health and wellbeing, waste, energy or gardening. Work on your own project or event, or choose from the ‘How to action guides’. Choose from 14 easy actions.
  3. Connect with other schools, get tips and share ideas. There is also the option of sharing and showcasing your action through a participant profile.
  4. Celebrate and have fun during Enviroweek. Optional ways to celebrate include the People’s Choice Awards, Top Young Environmentalist Award (Secondary), or the Top Educator Award.
