This program supports sustainability practices in schools and contributes to council’s environment and sustainability goals.

Connects to the following modules of ResourceSmart Schools: Core, Biodiversity, Waste, Water, Energy

Accessible to schools in the following Melbourne metropolitan regions: Southern

Appropriate for students in:
Early Childhood
Primary – Prep to Grade 2
Primary – Grade 3 to Grade 6
Secondary – Year 7 to Year 10
Secondary – Year 11 to Year 12

What is offered to schools:

  • Support on an as-needed basis by Samantha Ackland eg. meeting with teachers and students to support them with their projects
  • Teacher Environment Network Meetings – Once a term
  • E-Newsletter once a term
  • Think Less Waste – Term 2 (still in development stage as of February 2014)
    – Waste audits
    – Reducing waste at school
    – Nude Food focus
