Program: Council services to schools

This program supports sustainability practices in schools and contributes to council’s environment and sustainability goals.

Connects to the following modules of ResourceSmart Schools: Core, Biodiversity, Waste, Energy, Water

Accessible to schools in the following Melbourne metropolitan regions: Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western

Appropriate for students in:
Early Childhood
Primary – Prep to Grade 2
Primary – Grade 3 to Grade 6
Secondary – Year 7 to Year 10
Secondary – Year 11 to Year 12

What is offered to schools:

1. Nillumbik/Banyule Teacher Environment Network

  • Free for any teacher in the Nillumbik or Banyule Region, as well as anybody interested from surrounding areas.
  • Runs 8 times a year.

2. Edendale Education E -News

  • 6-8 times a year.
  • Lots of great info relevant to schools sustainability programs.

3. Kids Teaching Kids conference every year, with Banyule Council

  • Any Banyule or Nillumbik schools can register.

4. Edendale Farm

  • Fee-for-service excursion and incursion programs to preschools and schools in any region.

5. Arbor Week Grant

  • Available to Nillumbik preschools and schools once a year.

6. Community Education programs

  • Offered for local community members.
