Program: Students Futurescaping Schools

This program helps to increase the biodiversity within their school grounds and adopt sustainable practices within the whole school community.

Connects to the following modules of ResourceSmart Schools: Waste, Biodiversity

Accessible to schools in the following Melbourne metropolitan regions: Eastern, Northern and Southern

Appropriate for students in:
Primary – Grade 3 to Grade 6
Secondary – Year 7 to Year 10

What is offered to schools:

  • Funded to work with 15 disadvantaged schools
  • Students supported to plan, plant and care for a ‘Multicultural Food Garden’ or a ‘Wildscape Habitat Garden’
  • Guided by experienced Gould League Staff over a 12 month period
  • Professional development provided to contact teacher
  • Students use interactive websites for creating their designs, and use inquiry-based strategies for planning a maintenance program for their garden, and work to engage the whole school community in supporting and celebrating their success.
